Health Benefits
Blueberries have been called the king of antioxidants, are loaded with water, polyphenols, Vitamin K, C, manganese, fiber, potassium, folate, Vitamin B6… and are low in calories. So they are great for your heart, your overall health, fighting cancer, high blood pressure, brain health, memory, fighting diabetes… well, you look it up and see.
Ingredients
1 cup of liquid (non-dairy or dairy milk or water)
1 cup of frozen blueberries
1 cup of frozen bananas
¼ cup or less of something close to your heart: chia seeds, flax seeds, oats etc
Honey or other healthy sweetener… if you really need it.
I read that it’s best to use frozen blueberries for this recipe for a nice, cold smoothie… and if you want it thick, add frozen banana as well. You can add chia seeds, nuts, nut butter, non-dairy milk, milk, yoghurt, kefir, kiwi fruit, other fruit kale …whatever healthy smoothie ingredient you like.
Directions
Combine all the ingredients in a blender, put your liquids in first.
Blend on a low speed, and gradually (but quickly) increase it to the highest.
Taste. Sweeten if need be.
Serve and enjoy.
Make another one with different ingredients, just for fun.
