Bitter Kola

Bitter Kola, also known as Garcinia Kola is a tree of many uses that is found mainly in West and Central Afrika. The entire tree has been used for a wide variety of medicinal purposes for ages and it is known to contain anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, as well as carry preventative and curative benefits for a wide range of ailments. It is believed to be rich in antioxidants and Vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, as well as calcium, potassium, iron and fiber. The leaves, bark, twigs and fruit are very beneficial, with chewing sticks used to promote dental hygiene and health, but the most popular part of the tree, are its seeds, which are eaten raw.
