Fezeka Mkhabela
Born in KwaZulu-Natal, Republic of South Africa, Fezeka Mkhabela is a writer, producer, and documentary filmmaker dedicated to illuminating African Knowledge Systems and Cultural Practices through the moving image. Fezeka holds an honours degree in Film and Television Production with a specialisation in Screenwriting and Performance Theory from the University of the Witwatersrand where she received the Junaid Ahmed Award for Best Documentary. She is a recipient of the prestigious Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans Award 2024. In 2021, Fezeka founded Ingwe Studios, a production company that champions indigenous stories through visual storytelling. Her creative writing has been published in Tint Journal Austria and The Culture Review South Africa. In 2023, she was selected to represent South Africa as an emerging filmmaker at the Pan African Film & Television Festival of Ouagadougou.
