A PEOPLE CALLED AFRIKA

many of those who ‘worship’ them actually know this but
have found the groveling approach to be the most suitable
and swift avenue towards their own gain, thereby perpetuating
an evil cycle of injustice. This all absolutely contradicts the
principle of one’s gifts bringing them before kings (i.e. merit).

Of a truth, Capitalism is a harsh taskmaster, creating within its
folds a world that is based on competition that claims to use
a level-playing field, yet it does not, because even its propo-
nents are not above manipulating the system to suit themselves
through lobbying and bribing (though the distinction is often
unclear) government officials in order to get their way, abus-
ing the court system in order to get away with corruption on
their part and so on. But it’s really not surprising that this is
the nature and the heart of the system that most of the world
depends upon. The modern world’s economy was established
on the backs of conspiracy, slavery, murder, wars, illicit drug
trade, theft, piracy, blackmail, bribery, coercion, sexual abuse,
physical abuse, mutilation, slander, deception and greed. A
most unholy foundation. That is why the system always tends
towards enslavement and oppression, rather than actual
liberty, because its true nature is to oppress and subjugate.

Take the example of the finance and specifically the banking
sector. Banks serve as hubs for the movement of money be-
tween parties and also provide financing in the form of loans
to players in the market. A senior official in the Afrikan bank-
ing sector explained to us that banks are inherently Capitalistic
and the banking sector is one that continues to make its billions
even in depressed economies. As he explains it, because of the
very usurious arrangements, where the bank exacts, for exam-
ple, 15 – 20% interest on loans, this has resulted in a situation
