EDITOR's note
Loved, hated, feared, despised, and even – truth be told – envied in some
quarters, Paul Kagame is a divisive figure in many respects, but the one thing
even his critics may find hard to dispute is that he has proven that Africa can
transform and shift away from the negative stereotypes of ineptitude and inability
to grow and develop. They may question his methods, but Rwanda is clean, and
efficient and has become a shining example of the possibility for Afrika. The
late John Pombe Magufuli was doing the same in Tanzania and the young, bold
leaders in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger are demonstrating that it IS possible to
destroy a colonial legacy and rebuild along a different pathway.
Change is POSSIBLE in and for Afrika. That is undeniable. The late Libyan
leader, Muammar Gaddafi demonstrated it and was so effective in his
transformational efforts in the continent that he created seismic waves globally
that… well, you know what happened.
WHERE WE SHARE
I reiterate. CHANGE is POSSIBLE in and for Afrika. When you consider the
visionaries of the Casablanca Group and their boldness to chart a path that was OUR THOUGHTS
specifically beneficial to the continent and the vicious reprisal that they faced –
you realize that the world knows it too. (Read more about that in this BOOK by ON AFRICA
Samuel Phillips and P D Lawton, foreword by PLO Lumumba)
Unity is the key to such change. The kind of unity that sees a nation of people +254 733 489470
rally behind a leader and WARN him of coup plots because they see the value in
his leadership, despite what the world would want you to think of him.
CHANGE is POSSIBLE in and for Afrika and we must unite to see it through.
Please watch this short video by Vusi Thembekwayo that illustrates this point.
Have a blessed month ahead.
