Unity with God

Dance
With a dance I have come
But I see for every step I take
You have taken a double
Clearly You are more eager for this dance than I can ever be
So I will dance before thee

I see Your robe filling the temple
As You dance towards me
A rhythm that cannot be marched to any known sound
Yet I dance in conformity to the approval of saints who sit as witnesses
So I will dance before thee.

Has it ever been seen
That mere mortals will dance with an immortal God
Has it ever been heard
That mere mortals can hear sounds of immortality
Has or ever been put in any heart
That mere mortals can be made the center of Your attention
But the secret and deep things are Your pleasure Oh God
And to whom You will
Is the sound of music revealed
So I will dance before thee.

A dance so consuming
Lurking into its rhythm
Divine pleasures without end
Taking away all that is me
Leaving all that is You
In me, with me, through me
To the amazement of all to see
