don’t just live...
Pete and Wambui Ngambura, we are honoured to call you fami-
ly! Thank you for holding our hands and helping us carry the cross.
My mums: Mum Irene, Mum Eva, Mum Rehema, and Mama Bear
(Nancy Kimani). Thank you for choosing to be Daddy’s hands and
feet in my life. With you in my life, my love tank is always full and
my children are dearly loved. I love and appreciate you all deeply.
Mother Eagle (Kiji), our doula and birth partner; thank you for listening
to Daddy, obeying and choosing to love us and pray for our children
even before they are born. We are forever indebted to you. Keep doing
what you do; every seed that passes through your hands is better for it!
My Soul Sister, Shiko…Love, thank you for journeying with me
every step of the way. For being my sounding board, cheerleader,
critic... doing life with you is one of the best gifts Daddy has given me.
Gachugz, Sweet One, Babez, Karinyo, Ng’ash, G-honey, Betty and all
my dearly beloved cousins… you are all the fat I need for my bones.
Lisette, you are my person…You will always be my person.
Dr Balleith (our OB/GYN), Dr Maalim (our paediatrician)
and the wonderful team at Nairobi South Hospital, you are my
Daddy’s best and that is why He led me to you. Keep working
as unto God, that is what makes your service exemplary indeed.
My teachers: Mrs Kimani, Mrs Mutuku (Uhuru Primary School), the
late Mrs Mbatha (Kibwezi), Mrs Kyalo, Mrs Mung’ayi, Mrs Orinda
(thank you for calling me out as a writer) (Our Lady of Mercy Sec.
School), Dr Mia, Mr Sam and Prof. Ngure (Daystar). I treasure all our
one-on-one sessions. I appreciate you for building me up. This book is
a testament of your positive impact in my life. Keep loving what you do.
