A PEOPLE CALLED AFRIKA

world was caught as flat-footed as Afrika in all this, mean-
ing that no nation could come and make the usual decla-
rations about how ‘hopeless, desperate and useless’ Afri-
ka ‘is’ and how much better they are. Equally wonderfully,
though the world looked to see the ‘horrors’ that would
afflict Afrika in this situation, God spared us. Why? Be-
cause Afrika remains at the core of His redemptive purpose
for the world, provided we align with the Father of lights.

In some of our writings at Msingi Afrika Magazine, we have
explained that every single nation on earth has a Divine pur-
pose and role to play that will bring to fulfillment the mind
of God for every age past, present and future. The heart
and mindset of low self-esteem, self-hatred and other incon-
sistencies with the truth of God’s Word over Afrika have
caused a disruption in our ability to walk out our true iden-
tities and purposes as individuals and as a collective. This
is the restoration we are to fight for, not the glories of the
former kingdom of Benin or any other kingdoms in Afrika.

Our focus as A People Called Afrika is to be that which was in
the heart of God when He created the world, when He created
man, when He created the womb of life called Afrika. That which
was disrupted, of Afrika’s stream of Divine wisdom, by colonial-
ism, is what we are meant to bring forth, not a return to some of
the practices that many are advocating for, that are at the core
of the reawakening that many are sensing and speaking about.

Restoration is not to buildings or gold in the land, no, resto-
ration is to the original intent of the Maker. At the heart of Af-
rika remains what the world needs in order to find its footing
in God once again and this is not just her physical raw materi-
