nialists of old, with external influences at work as well, all com-
pletely against her and in order to keep her in a cycle of pover-
ty of spirit and mindset. It is a living prison of the worst order.
The thing about shame is that it only controls the one who be-
lieves it is their right. It is idiotic to think that God would leave
His prized possession - Afrika - laboring under the shackles of
self-contempt or the contempt of others, for eternity. This is the
reason why Msingi Afrika Magazine shares stories of hope and
overcoming, shares different paradigms for Afrika to consider,
and shares stories of Afrika’s heroes and Afrika’s past from a
new light. This is the reason why this book exists. Afrika must
know for herself, how beautiful she is so that with her own
actions and her own mouth she can start to proclaim it over
herself and to the rest of the world. So that she can live it out.
We must return to critical thinking, mindfulness, love, broth-
erhood and the very act of Ubuntu in order to break free
from the matrix created to subject the Afrikan people to a
never-ending loop of servitude. Afrikans somehow look and
act like children, who were neglected by an unfaithful mother
and for whose sins they must pay for the remainder of their
days. Originality and creativity is the identity of Afrika and that
is what she really must uphold again, instead of the unwise
acceptance of whatever the West, the East or whoever else
throws at her. When one values something, they look after
it, they tend it, they protect it; they do not subject it to evil
external influences or forces. They guard it for as long as is
humanly possible for them to do. When Afrika begins to val-
ue herself, when her people see themselves and each other
as important and valuable, they will change tack. This is true
and this is Afrika’s future reality, the reality that the awaken-
