A PEOPLE CALLED AFRIKA
of her heritage in exchange for destructive gains. She got
disconnected from nature from which her learning comes.
By taking on another’s version of events, she lost her self in
relation to the Creator Who Is God, she lost her service to
Him, her worship of Him and her genuine connection to
Him. Like an adulterous mother caught in the act of adultery
with foreign ideology, she is ashamed and can’t put things to-
gether for herself without feeling unworthy of such honor; an
honor which was not given to her by any set of humans, but
by the One who graciously made her a mother on the earth.
However painful this reality might appear, she has not learnt
from that loss and she is also about to lose her mandate as a
nest of safety if she continues to bury her head in the sands
of regret of the ancient paths she lost, instead of putting her
thoughts towards freeing herself from the adultery she has
been involved in with the rest of the world. Afrika as a symbol
of motherhood has not been faithful to the truth of her moth-
erhood as given to her by Her Creator, she has become the
milk producing cow that does not drink from her own milk
and whose children are malnourished. However, now is not
the time to cry over what was lost, but the time to wipe away
those tears, brush off the dust of the past, lay hold again of
purpose and make a better pathway towards a brighter destiny.
The shame
When not writing or doing other things, our active reflections
and conversations turn to various things, especially about our
home called Afrika. It hurts to see her look so helpless in the
midst of so much ancient wisdom and knowledge. It hurts to
see her broken in the very face of strength; poor in the midst
