eyes, even though this would help us to see clearly and make
decisions that will not only correct the past that we have
cried over, but also create a new pathway into the future.
To tell you the truth, this book could easily have been written
just like every other book out there that talks about Afrika; but
to do that would be to join the people doing the same thing
and recycling already overstretched thoughts and concepts that
have been around for millennia, without resolving much in
Afrika. By that we would be labeled as liars before God. We
also believe there are thousands, if not millions, of books that
have been written about Afrika from various intellectual minds
which are very important for Afrika. However, that things have
not changed much in Afrika the way that they should have,
even with all of those intellectual ideas, shows that just may-
be we need more than academic minds or thinking, but rath-
er that we need minds that have been renewed for change.
Here is what we mean; books, ideas, innovations are like seeds
planted into mind fields and how they grow and influence a
community is dependent on the hearts and mind of the peo-
ple receiving them. So, we decided to use a more holistic ap-
proach, touching on various things in our society to create a
single stream of thought. Outside of that, we may just be joining
a host of others building another form of Babel in Afrika, us-
ing world-class intellectual minds, technology, innovations but
without any HUMANITY. We know how futile it is to try to
plant the seeds of change in hearts that are full of hate, wicked-
ness, pain, greed, envy, corruption, disregard for others, lack of
compassion, disloyalty, unkindness etc., which many Afrikans
are guilty of. So, taking this book from a more holistic point
of view will help us deal with our Afrikan issues from both
an intellectual space and from the space of renewed hearts.
