A PEOPLE CALLED AFRIKA
Energy” in mind and at the center of all that they did, irre-
spective of what or how they interpreted the concept of God
in their day. To them, spirit and spirituality, the knowledge
and energy of the cosmos and its alignment were fully in-
grained in their day-to-day life, a thing the modern-day Afrikan
has forgotten and even demonized, to their own detriment.
To our ancestors, what really mattered was the cosmos and
how their lives, their beliefs, their destinies, their families,
their tilling of the earth were connected. Maintaining balance
and harmony was critical in their management of their lives
and great care was taken not to offend what was unseen, un-
like today. Just as the environment of their temples was made
sacred by metaphors of cosmic order, entire cities and great
ritual centers were also astronomically aligned and organized.
For the ancient Afrikans, nothing in their lives was random.
In today’s world, however, the delinking of God from ev-
eryday thoughts, words and actions has thrown everything in
Afrika’s societies off balance. Much like the young male el-
ephants who have been left without guides, due to poaching
of the older males who maintained balance and taught dis-
cipline, and are now out of control and exceedingly violent
and dangerous, so has the modern Afrikan society lost or is
losing its focus on the One Who holds to account all who
are His, and the discipline they need is falling on deaf ears.
The Church is not warning politicians and other govern-
ment or business leaders of the consequences of the choic-
es they are making, choosing instead to find favor with those
in power so that they can acquire benefit to themselves.
The people and leadership are not sensitive to His correc-
