me about what it means to have Him as my Shepherd. As a result, I
began hearing Him on a whole new level, because I am fully dependent
on what He says for the wellbeing of every aspect of my life, Ekklesia,
          edification and living in freedom.

I know you must wonder, “How can God tell you not to go to church?!”
And my simple answer to that is a question right back at you, “Has God
ever said anything to you that made you think you must have heard your
          own things?”

Can you imagine the conversation between Hosea and his family and
friends, “God has told me to marry Gomer, the prostitute!” Or Abram to
                                                            14
his extended family and friends, “God has asked me to leave everything and
everyone I know and go with my wife.” Where to Abram?” They wondered. “I
do not know yet. He just asked me to leave.”
                                              15

I find it interesting that most people think I am “deep” when I talk until
they ask, “Where do you go to church?” And when I say I don’t or I
do church at home, suddenly, it is like I am talking a language they do
not understand and from that moment they refuse to believe anything
I have to say. The men of old did not have church as we know it, yet
you have no problem believing the Truth that they lived through their
lives… you do not doubt God concerning their lives.

Most churches were started in people’s homes, where two or three gath-
ered and earnestly sought to know God and to be in His presence. It
was not about the politics and personal opinions that cripple many
          congregations today.
