faith
uses deceit and subterfuge, so it is important to know that not
everything that seems to be ‘good’ to do is God’s will for you.
While you are learning to hear God’s voice, you can ask Him to
help confirm if what you are hearing is truly Him. If you are
in doubt you can find answers to questions like, “Daddy, was it
really you asking me to give my house/car/land/this money to
so and so?”
• Your flesh will most likely not like what He may be saying, but your
spirit will be unsettled until you do it (obey). For instance, those
times you feel a serious urge to check on a friend, if nothing else,
say a prayer for them. If the nudging persists, call them. Most of the
time, you have exactly what they needed; even a word of
encouragement. Seek to obey as much as possible and to overcome
instances of disobedience through heartfelt repentance. You can
even ask God for an opportunity to make good where you might
have missed it.
Engage:
1.Do you actively listen to God?
2.What does Psalms 23 mean to you?
3.Is “going to church” what makes me a believer?
4.Do I believe my relationship with Daddy is enough?
5.Would my relationship with God survive and thrive outside (the reli-
gious walls) of the church as I know it?
6.When I wrote this chapter, the world had had not been hit by the
Covid-19 pandemic, but as you read this, you are most probably going
through or recovering from its effects. How has your relationship with
God been affected? What was your biggest take away as far as your rela-
tionship with Him is concerned?
