in my spirit, “Please let us not sing those songs right now. Let us sing
“He’s Able” (also by Deitrick) instead.” This was very critical for me
because every season of my life is characterised by the music He leads
me to worship Him with. And I can often tell you what is going on in
the Spirit in that way. This is the music that will be on replay until that
season changes. Those close to me can attest to this because by end of
the season they can sing the song(s) even in their sleep. In early 2020,
my daughter, at two years old, and my son at one were listening to
music by Jotta A and Musiko and I can tell you they learnt a few Spanish
words. (Ha!) But more on this later.
He has taught me we ought not to sing anything that we do not mean
because our words are indeed our bond. So even if it is a “gospel song”
but you do not live the words in the song, please stop! Because when
you declare to Him, “I surrender all… It ALL belongs to you…”
then you turn and tell Him He has TAKEN AWAY what you already
gave Him, then you are inconsistent. How can He have taken away what
you had already declared does not belong to you? How can He have
taken away what you have ALREADY TOLD HIM HE CAN HAVE?
How can this be when you told Him that you trust Him with all your
heart to have His Will and Way in your life?
Have you ever been given anything that the giver assigns so many strin-
gent rules to for you? And even worse, sometimes comes back and asks
you to give it back or they simply take it away? How did that feel?
The Bible is very clear what the attitude of The Giver (God) always is,
cheerful; not reluctant or under compulsion… and because He made us
to be like Him, He asks us to give in the same way. When you are giving
of yourself, money, time… ANYTHING and EVERYTHING… If
you are not freely giving and cheerfully so, then please just stop and
reconsider. Perhaps check your heart and motives and ask Your Father
