2. THE FATHER OF THE “AGENDA FOR THE 21 CENTURY”
ST
Maurice Strong, godfather of global environmentalism, clearly defined AGENDA 21 in this ominous
proclamation during his opening address at the 1992 U.N. Conference on Environment and
Development:
“Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class -
involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work-
place air-conditioning, and suburban housing – are not sustainable.
A shift is necessary which will require a vast strengthening of the
multilateral [transnational] system, including the United Nations.

Strong was literally calling for new forms of jurisdiction empowered to reduce the liberties of the
western world’s lifestyles and land use.
The two drivers Strong described that propel this movement:
Driver 1: Sustainability: Vastly decrease “unsustainable” features of modern life, including
individual freedom and use of property.
Driver 2: New kinds of jurisdiction that will greatly increase top down regulatory controls to
enforce Sustainable Development. Individual, local, state, free market and Constitutional jurisdiction
have to give way to a greatly empowered bureaucratic regulatory state, even transnational authorities.
And to compound the absurdity, the justifications for both of these drivers are based on deliberately
manufactured impetuses. The deception behind Driver 1 Sustainable Development is a
manufactured environmental, climate and population crisis. The deception that brings
about Driver 2, hyperregulated jurisdiction, is manufactured consensus for Sustainable
Development in your community!
This 3 minute video of Joe Neal, South Carolina Democrat State Representative describing coercive
Urban Growth Boundaries in Richland County that prohibit development outside designated
“villages” powerfully illustrates the two main drivers of AGENDA 21.
