                                    10. THE RELIGION OF AGENDA 21

                                                    ~~PANTHEISM~~

Many who endorse AGENDA 21 are pantheistic New Agers,
fervently believing “Mother Earth” (Gaia) is being violated by
mankind. Al Gore has called for a new relationship between
                                                   man and earth.

“Sallie McFague wrote, “A Theological/Ethical Response to
AGENDA 21,” she has lectured on “A Christian Ecological View
of Human Beings.” Her article called for rejecting the Western
model of the Earth in favor of the “ancient organic model”
which “can serve to incite the needed change in perspective.”
She explained: “The organic model, which is found in cultures
and religions in Native American traditions, Goddess
religions, and even in Christianity's incarnationalism, portrays
Earth as a body.” This “organic model” of McFague's is the
                                                   Gaia concept….

The United Nations has an earth-worshiping program, “The
United Nations Environmental Sabbath Service.” It is a call to
prayer to an unknown entity for the salvation of the earth. It
describes this entity only as “the energy that moves all things.”
It is a call for all people “to join with the earth and with each other” for “the healing of the earth and
the renewal of all life.” It urges the earth’s inhabitants to chant, “We live in all things; all things live in
us. We live by the sun; we move with the stars.” This introduction and practice to pantheism is
part of the United Nations environmental agenda.

This next portion is probably some of the most disturbing influences of the environmental movement
because it is affecting our children. Pledges directed toward Gaia--We as Americans pledge allegiance
to the flag as a representation of our country and the principle of freedom, the environmentalists
pledge to the earth as a living organism replacing God. “I pledge allegiance to the Earth and all its
sacred parts, its water, land and living things and all its human hearts.” (Earth Pledge, Global
             Education Associates).”

“The Earth Charter is an international declaration, which calls for “building a just, sustainable, and
peaceful global society for the 21st century. The underlying philosophy of the Charter is a pagan one,
whereby Mother Earth and nature are to be worshiped, and as such it opposes the Judeo-Christian
belief that God is separate from his creation and man has dominion over the Earth. If Agenda 21 is the
blue print – the Earth Charter is the manifesto” and the philosophy behind AGENDA 21.

Since its launch, over 4500 organizations have endorsed the Charter, including international bodies
such as UNESCO and the World Conservation Union, the 2001 U.S. Conference of Mayors, various
government bodies, faith-based groups and youth organizations.

The original copy of the Earth Charter has been placed in a specially constructed Ark of Hope, a 49
inch (124.5cm) by 32 inch (81.3cm) by 32" (81.3cm) wooden chest that is built to resemble the Biblical
Ark of the Covenant, but contains occult symbolism. The Ark of Hope was launched by Steven C.
Rockefeller at an event called For Love of Earth, a celebration of the Earth Charter that took place on 9
September 2001 at Shelburne Farms, Vermont. The Ark is taken on tour each year across parts of the
world to promote the Earth Charter, visiting hundreds of schools and universities.”
