THE GAZE
Ability to focus on God and understand deep mysteries.
Can I just sit and gaze into Your eyes
For in it my whole life depends
For it brings me to a place of stillness
For it positions me right in your presence
Where my joy is made completely full
And your pleasures encompasses me forevermore
And so my father I ask.
Can I just sit and gaze into Your eyes
You don’t even need to mind me
You don’t even need to tell me any mysteries
You don’t even need to make the impossible possible
Nor move the stars to create my space
Please forget melting the mountains
For all I ask is
Can I just sit and gaze into Your eyes
My legs were broken on my way here
Hands cut off to slow me down
Body beaten with so much strips that mangled flesh and blood
Even the ground is full of thongs
Yet I laughed at mortality
For ignorance never told it that all I needed were my eyes
So my father
