24. THE GOAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS “AGENDA FOR THE 21
ST
CENTURY”
“The objective of [AGENDA 21] Sustainable Development is to integrate economic, social and
environmental policies in order to achieve reduced consumption, social equity, and the
preservation and restoration of biodiversity. Sustainablists insist that every societal decision
be based on environmental impact, focusing on three components; global land use, global education,
and global population control and reduction.” This quote is from the article linked below which
provides a simple overview of AGENDA 21.

“Maurice Strong was named secretary-general of both the 1972
United Nations Conference on the Human Environment and the
1992 Earth Summit. Through his work in UNESCO, Strong
promotes Gaia, the Earth Goddess, and while he was the
director of The Temple of Understanding in New York, he
encouraged the replacement of Christianity with the worship of
"mother earth." In 1997, he famously declared: "Frankly, we
may get to the point where the only way of saving the world will
be for industrial civilization to collapse. The concept of national
sovereignty... is a principle which will yield only slowly and
reluctantly to the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation."”

Strong was the architect of the Kyoto Protocol which is helping devastate Europe’s economy. Japan,
Italy and Spain face payments of as much as $33 billion combined for failing to reduce greenhouse-gas
emissions as promised under the Kyoto treaty. Spain faces a $7.8 billion cost, and Italy and Japan
each may owe about $13 billion, based on estimates by their governments and the current price for
permits. “The only winners will be countries such as Russia, India, and China, from which Canada will
have to buy “emissions credits.” Kyoto is essentially a socialist scheme to suck money out of wealth-
producing nations. On top of all this, Kyoto will not even reduce greenhouse gases. By encouraging
transfer of industrial production to Third World countries where emissions standards are more
relaxed, it will almost certainly increase emissions on a global scale.

This article describes the efforts of states such as New Hampshire to ban AGENDA 21 and the
foundations that are advocating the establishing of 10 mega-regions in the U.S. for the administration
of Sustainable Development.
