Surrender

about the pregnancy. I told him, “You need to decide how done you
are with having children because the only way we are having this one is
through a miracle, and for that, I will need you to agree with me!”

I called Mama too and she reassured me that this is in fact why we had
been told it would be a faith journey on another level and she reminded
me of the scripture in Romans.

When I stepped out of the room, my spirit was strengthened and I knew
God would move this pregnancy to the right place. The sonographer re-
ferred me to another doctor (I suppose he was) back at the government
hospital who, “Would know what to do.” However, I knew in my spirit
that was not my Father’s instruction and so I went to the doctor who had
sent me for the other test results and deliberately decided not to share
my covert test findings because I knew she would otherwise not need
to give me folic acid. After I had the folic in hand and an October date
for my next appointment, I engaged her for her medical opinion about
“this friend of mine” that had been told she had an ectopic pregnancy
in the fallopian tube. “How many times have you seen such a pregnancy
move?” She said, “None.” I had also called my OB/GYN and asked
her the same question as I was walking back to the hospital from the
lab. She said she had only delivered one pre-term (28 weeks) abdominal
ectopic pregnancy, but a fallopian tube pregnancy needs a laparoscopy,
especially if it is alive. She paused and asked if it was me we were talking
about, and I told her yes. She said it needed to be removed immediately.

Now, let us backtrack a bit to the Thursday after I found out I was
pregnant. I was having a long phone call with my friend, Kobz. We
had reconnected a few weeks before this after he read the article I was
featured in on Msingi Afrika Magazine Issue 6. Our conversations are
always exciting; full of life, joy and love. The epitome of iron sharpening
iron. And so, on this day, he asked me, “So, what has God been saying
